POPE JOHN PAUL II CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL
MONTHLY FAMILY BULLETIN
June 2011

Dear Pope John Paul II Families,

CELEBRATION OF THE BEATIFICATION OF POPE JOHN PAUL II

We would like to thank everyone who made our celebration of the beatification of Bl. John Paul II so very special. Archbishop Aymond was very complementary about the manner in which our community celebrated this blessed event. The morning reciting of the Rosary, the students making string Rosaries, the movie on the life of Bl. John Paul II, the Mass and the blessing of the Rosary Garden were all very special events.

ANNUAL CAMPAIGN FOR EXCELLENCE

Just a final reminder that if you intend to contribute to the campaign and have not done so yet, please do so by June 24th. Thanks to all who have been so generous.

ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT

We are presently looking for parents to join our Enrollment Management Core Team and assist us with our marketing efforts. If you are interested in participating in this effort, please contact Coach Hickman for further details. We need your help attracting and retaining students. Increasing enrollment decreases future tuition and fee increases.

REGISTRATION AND FINANCES FOR THE 2011/2012 SCHOOL YEAR

We continue to accept registrations from new students for next school year. If you know of anyone entering grades 9 to 12, please encourage them to contact the school office to take a tour of the school and/or register. Our parents and students are our best ambassadors.

Tuition and fees for next school year may be either prepaid or financed. If you are planning to prepay, the first payment of $ 4,000 is due by June 1st and the balance of tuition and fees is due by Book Day on August 3rd.

Financing for next school year is available through First Bank and Trust by going to their web site (tuition.fbtonline.com).¬

NEW TECHNOLOGY

Thanks to everyone who attended the iPad 2 presentation on May 18th. Special thanks to alumni Austin Chautin, Matt Seal and senior Grace Jovanovic who gave an awesome presentation on the many applications that can be used with the iPad 2.

All students will need a school provided iPad 2 next school year. PJP has leased the iPads for three years. The use fee for each student will be $ 295 for the next school year. The fee will be due when the iPads are received. Our current plan is to distribute them to seniors and juniors on August 9th and sophomores and freshmen on August 10th. The fee must be paid at that time. If you have a First Bank and Trust tuition and fee loan, you may request that the school ask the bank to increase your loan to cover the fee. A breakdown of the PJP cost for the next school year is as follows:

iPad 2 $ 160.00
Apple Care 33.00
Cover 13.00
School Required Apps 50.00
Insurance 117.00
$ 373.00

As I previously mentioned, the Lenovo laptops that we have been using were purchased with government post-Katrina funds and are the property of the State of Louisiana. Therefore they may not be sold.
