General Information about PJP II Athletics Programs

At Pope John Paul II Catholic High School, athletic competition is valued as a way of teaching and training young men and women to cope with life in competitive circumstances. Competition in our society requires values that Americans respect. Teamwork, honesty, cooperation, self-sacrifice, dedication, obedience, hard work, goal setting, respect, self-discipline, and mutual encouragement are expected outcomes for young people who participate in sports. These traits are preparation for adult life. By offering athletic programs, PJP is providing this avenue of expression for their students. PJP is not satisfied just to have a program. The program must excel. Jaguar athletics are enthusiastically supported by the administration and by the parents and community through the JP Club.

LHSAA Forms

Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) forms that are required for students to participate in PJP II Sports (available from the school office and coaches) are as follows (click to open the form in pdf, which you can print out and fill in):

• LHSAA Medical history form: must be completed each school year, prior to first practice date.

• LHSAA Athletic Participation / Parental Permission form: parts I & II must be completed each school year, prior to first practice date.

• LHSAA Substance Abuse / Misuse Contract and Consent form: must be completed prior to participating in first sport at PJP each year.

• Birth Certificate: a copy must be on file in the school office.
