This weekend, the PJP Art Club traveled to Lakeside Shopping Center for the announcement of the results of the Painted Pumpkin Patch Decorating Contest. Our submission, pictured below, was Cinderella-themed and featured five pumpkins painted and sculpted in designs from the 1950 film. Students, teachers, and our Art Club’s devoted fanbase voted incessantly from the 15th to the 29th of October. When the results were tallied, it was all worth it! Our pumpkins took second place and won eight hundred dollars for the Art Department.
Art Club President, Marcelle Tiblier had this to say when asked about the contest, “We were definitely the underdogs. Thanks, guys.” Vice President Kate Prude was glad to have made the drive up to Lakeside and excited to earn any placement. This was PJP's first time ever being awarded a prize. Ms. DeNoux confirmed that the $800 won will be allocated for new materials and 'cooler' projects for Art Club and Art Classes. One such new project in discussion is marbling with paper.
"Gourd" job, Art Club!
